Ian Jackson CEng FSOE FIPlantE, IPlantE Sector Chair, Society of Operations Engineers.
Biog, Ian Jackson has over forty years’ experience in electricity production, including power station plant operations, energy trading and economic regulation. The latter, involving the regulation of competition in generation and supply, renewable energy, decentralised generation and security of supply.
More recently Ian has brought his experience to the Society of Operations Engineer’s work on reducing emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere resulting from operation of plant and equipment. The focus being to secure that all actions to reduce such emissions are done safely, efficiently, sustainably and in an ethical manner. He has also been a member of the Engineering Ethics Co-ordination Group, which is action-oriented group overseeing, reporting on, and coordinating ethics related work across the engineering profession.
