Ruth joined the CCSA in October 2021 following a public sector career spanning almost two decades. Selected for the first cohort of the Future Leaders Programme at the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change, Ruth managed delivery of the Electricity Market Reform White Paper and subsequent Energy Act 2013 to drive investment in renewable electricity. Ruth went on to set up the Low Carbon Contracts Company, where, as Director of Strategy & Development, she oversaw implementation of two key features of the UK's electricity market – the CfD and Capacity Market – and the company’s development into a trusted advisor to government on decarbonisation. From 2008-2010, Ruth led UK's negotiation of the EU Directive on CO2 storage and its international CCS policy, holding vice-chair roles in the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum and the Zero Emissions Platform. Prior to working in energy, Ruth was in the Civil Service Fast Stream, as a Financial Services Strategy adviser at HM Treasury and an economic adviser for the City of London Corporation.

When not at work, Chris just loves being outside, whether that’s walking, cycling, angling, or something else, there is no place he would rather be.

Megha Shah serves as the Head of the CCUS and H2 team at Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC). Her team at LCCC has been involved in developing contracts for CCUS (Dispatchable Power, Industrial Carbon Capture including Waste, and H2 (Electrolytic and CCUS enabled) business models. These contracts have been developed in close collaboration with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero and will be managed by Megha's team once they are signed. Prior to her role at LCCC, Megha had experience in project and market development, construction, startups, and the development of Waste infrastructure through PFI / PPP contracts.

He then moved to Natural England, which reignited his environmental interests. Most recently, Gareth has become a Certified Passivhaus consultant, working on Passivhaus projects in the NHS, for multi residential blocks, and on Passivhaus Schools. Gareth is committed to the delivery of net zero and is well placed to tackle it as a strategist, engineer and experienced energy manager.
